The company points out that this is the first fully self-developed and truly Gpu-based 7nm process GPGPU training chip in China, which will be widely used in AI training, high performance computing (HPC) and other scenarios after mass production, serving education, Internet, finance, autonomous driving, medical, security and other fields.
According to the official website, BI products were released in May 2020, returned in November, and successfully "lit up" in December of that year. Using a 7-nanometer process and 2.5DCoWoS packaging technology, the chip holds 24 billion transistors, can perform 147 trillion FP16 calculations per second in a single core, and can complete artificial intelligence processing of hundreds of camera video channels per second, which is twice the performance of mainstream products in the market.
Headquartered in Zhangjiang, Shanghai, Daychip is China's first hard technology company focusing on GPGPU chip high-performance computing systems. It focuses on the research and development of high-end general parallel computing chips at the level of cloud servers, aiming at the data-driven technology market represented by cloud computing, artificial intelligence and digital transformation to solve the bottleneck problem of core computing power.
According to Jiefang Daily, GPGPU stands for general purpose Graphics Processor (GPU), which enables the GPU designed for graphics and image processing to run general computing tasks other than graphics rendering. Because of its strong parallel processing ability and large storage bandwidth, it is favored by artificial intelligence model training and reasoning, and high performance computing. At present, it has broad application space in artificial intelligence market and high performance market.
