According to Vietcong news on January 18, the government of North Vietnam's Bac Giang province on Thursday granted licenses to three companies including Vietnam's Foxconn (Hon Hai), which will invest 623.3 billion Vietnamese dong (about 270 million US dollars / 1.752 billion yuan) to build an industrial park for the production of tablets and notebook computers with an annual capacity of 8 million.
As of December 2020, the total investment of Foxconn Group in Vietnam was $1.5 billion, while $900 million was invested in Bac Giang Province, creating jobs for more than 35,000 workers, according to the general manager of Foxconn Group Vietnam. An additional $700 million is expected to be invested and 10,000 jobs created by 2021.
